Small Paintings in Tenby…

The RI’s Small Paintings Exhibition held at the Naomi Tydeman Gallery in Tenby opened on Wednesday 25 July and closes today, 31 July, at 5pm.  The sun shone on Tenby on the day of the opening and the stunning little fishing port tucked away in Pembrokeshire was packed with visitors. Thirteen members were in town for the opening so it was all hands to the deck to help Naomi get the paintings hung, glasses polished and wine chilled before we opened the doors at 12 noon. One man erected a deckchair outside the door with an hour to go, much to everyone’s amusement, giving his teenage son strict instructions not to move, as he wanted first choice of the work on show!

As 12 noon arrived so did the Town Crier to declare the exhibition open to the whole town square!

…and in they came! Within seconds the red dots were in action and the sales were coming in. What started as a busy day, continued as a busy day with many sales, many visitors and many happy customers, delighted to have snapped up a bargain!

Several of the members had arranged holidays and short breaks around the exhibition opening, so were able able to help in the gallery and meet up to eat together, both in the evening and for bacon butties down in the harbour each morning! A great time was had by all!
