“Watercolour never ceases to amaze me. It’s unpredictable, spontaneous, independent, adamant and wilful and you have to be in a state of extreme alertness – to make snap decisions, to take risks, to not be afraid to lose something. To accept what’s given and work with it. To let. To watch. To be very present.”
Elected to the RI in 2004, Naomi Tydeman is a self-taught watercolourist. She opened her own studio-gallery in Tenby in 1998, where the natural beauty of Pembrokeshire provides much of the inspiration for her work.
