The 206th Exhibition of the Royal Institute will be held as in previous years at the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1, from 6-21 April, open 10am to 5pm daily, closing at 1pm on the final day. The RI was formed to exhibit the best watercolours and to show non-members’ works alongside the individual collections by Members, a policy that is upheld today. Works by Candidates seeking membership will also be prominently displayed and this year we set a new record for non-members’ paintings of just over 37%.
The exhibition will feature a wide variety of talks and demonstrations by RI Members and the presentation of many Awards and Prizes, including two new awards sponsored by Winsor & Newton: The Winsor & Newton Award of £3000 cash and The Winsor & Newton Product Prize of £1000 RRP of Winsor & Newton art materials of choice.
For a full list of prizes and awards please visit the exhibitions page under RI 2018 – How to enter : http://royalinstituteofpaintersinwatercolours.org/ri-2018-how-to-enter/
The Exhibition will be officially opened at the Private View on Thursday 5 April by Royal Academician Humphrey Ocean RA and the RI President Rosa Sepple RI.
This year’s exhibition promises to be another cornucopia of light, colour and texture not to be missed!
