Ian Cook RI Life Studies…

Of his RI collection this year Ian Cook RI writes:

The works I exhibit stem from a selection of life studies. This genre provides subjective fodder for larger works that I facilitate in the studio. These works invariably depict the human figure in some compositional strategy and are conceived in semi-abstract or expressionist techniques. The subject matter for these larger works is sourced from different continents and often from indigenous habitats.. Sometimes the content varies from themes of conflict to social observations (see http://www.ian-cook-art.com). But my overriding purpose in the life studies is to represent the human figure in luminosity and depth of colour, rather than photographic terms.
