Lillias August RI is the Patron of the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists (SEAW), started through a Royal Watercolour Society initiative.
Lillias says, “The exhibition was selected by myself and John Crossley RWS and Richard Sorrell PRWS and each of us give various prizes. I give an RI Award amongst others. It’s nice that there’s a collaboration between our societies and that there is such an enthusiastic regional watercolour society as there aren’t that many. This year I chose the attached image for the RI Award – the colour gradation, composition (can you see the tops of the beach huts?!), mark-making and feeling for that coast was very sensitively done. I hope you and my RI colleagues approve!”
