It is with regret that we have to inform you our Honorary Retired Member, George Large, has passed away at the age of 89. George was born in Islington in 1936, and studied at Hornsey College of Art from 1958 to 1963. He began exhibiting with the RI in 1983, becoming a full member in 1986 and later serving as our archivist. He won the Winsor & Newton Award in 1989. In 1997, he was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA). His work is held in a number of important collections, including the National Gallery and the British Consulate in Malta.
