In the gallery today we have Ann Kilvington RI who will be offering portfolio reviews to artist visitors seeking opinions, advice and guidance with their work. Ann’s collection in the RI this year is a group of seascapes from the north of England where she lives. She writes…
As we live on an Island I want to touch the edges from time to time . Most of it is dangerous lest we forget and where the sea and land meet so do the elements that inspire me . I like the turbulence the sea and sky it excites the senses and powers the work. This year some of the work is from Lindisfarne , the causeway to an island that is cut off twice a day and the large paintings are of Morecambe Bay …benign looking but highly dangerous to walk over . Both give me a charge of energy and excitement and I hope this is reflected in the work .
