‘Umbraculum’, as the artwork is titled, takes the form of an indoor immersive, layered paper based installation that draws inspiration from the gardens and heritage of Sewerby Hall and Gardens. Juliette’s approach of watercolour and ink of paper captures the curiosity of viewers to explore the details hidden in the installation.
The talk will take a look at Juliette’s background as an internationally recognised artist, discussing the influences, both technical and thematic, that run through her work. Towards the fringes of any conurbation exists land that is in a state of flux. Buildings come and go to be replaced or reoccupied by nature. Losq’s paintings seek to describe these ephemeral borderlands. Discover how her practise has evolved over time and how she has developed as an artist alongside.
